The initiative was officially launched on Thursday by Prime Ministers Blair and Ahern as part of the UK premier's visit to Ireland. It is hoped the move will foster closer links between schools both sides of the border.

Dell, which has manufacturing plants in Ireland, will provide 200 PCs for Irish schools, connecting children to the Internet all over Ireland.
