BMC appoints Peter Leav, previously of Polycom, as president and CEO
BMC announced Monday that Peter Leav is joining the enterprise software firm as its new president and CEO.
Leav comes to BMC from Polycom, the global collaboration company, where he served as president and CEO for the last three years. He's succeeding Bob Beauchamp, who will continue to serve as chairman of the board of directors for BMC.
BMC, which went private in 2013, is entering its next growth stage, making this a "natural point" for bringing on new leadership, Beauchamp said in a statement.
"Peter is an established technology CEO with deep industry expertise who will work closely with our strong management team to lead BMC forward in the years ahead," he said. "I look forward to working with him in an era of disruption and change that is redefining digital industry."
Before joining Polycom, Leav held executive leadership positions at NCR Corporation and served at Motorola as corporate vice president and general manager for Motorola's enterprise business. BMC highlighted his leadership in operations, general management, and sales across technology and services.
Since it went private, BMC has reallocated hundreds of millions of dollars toward higher-growth R&D and go-to-market initiatives. Last week, the firm rolled out its Innovation Suite, which enables collaboration on enterprise apps.
