Brazilian group Tivit splits IT and BPO functions
Brazilian IT services and business process outsourcing firm Tivit has decided to separate its two core service areas in order to drive growth and provide a better customer offering.
As a result of the split of the two areas, a new BPO company has been created. Neobpo will have two business streams: one focused on traditional services such as back office, CRM and receivables and another focused on digital services including automation through an artificial intelligence platform provided by Tivit.
According to the company's co-founder Luiz Mattar, the split had been under consideration for the last couple of years.
Integrated services provider Tivit is mainly owned by private equity firm Apax Partners and is one of Brazil's top three players in the BPO industry, but the IT side of the business still had a lot of room for improvement.
The split will enable Tivit - who has HP and IBM as some of its main competitors in the IT space in Brazil - to focus more sharply on developing its cloud services offering and capitalize on the multimillion-dollar investment it made earlier this year to improve its infrastructure set-up.
The company also intends to further invest in positioning itself as a cloud broker, so acting as an intermediary between the purchaser of a cloud computing service and the sellers of the service.
To that end, Tivit plans to use the resources of One Cloud, a Brazilian startup that it purchased earlier this year. The company offers a platform where customers can compare, buy, pay for and manage services from cloud providers such as Microsoft or AWS.
