British credit card spending is all-time high

Britons borrowed GBP 744 mln extra on their credit cards during the month, up from the GBP 166 mln rise in December. Overall, consumer credit rose by GBP 1.93 bln in January, the biggest monthly increase since last May and double December's rise.
