British Telecom, commonly known as BT, is the largest telecommunications company in the United Kingdom, and the official communications service provider for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

BT, which claims to be the world's oldest telecommunications company, is headquartered in London, the United Kingdom, and its origins date back to the establishment of the first U.K. telecommunications companies in 1846.

The company's business portfolio includes a range of technologies and services for homes, as well as large organizations globally, including local, national and international telecommunications products and services, as well broadband and Internet products and services.

The telecommunications giant employs some 111,900 people and operates in more than 170 countries.
