Shipments for broadband customer premise equipment (CPE) increased 23% in Q1 2005 from Q1 2004, InStat estimates. Revenue was up by 20% from 2004.

Shipments for broadband customer premise equipment (CPE) increased 23% in Q1 2005 from Q1 2004, InStat estimates. Revenue was up by 20% from 2004. CPE products include modems, routers, and residential gateways. Increasing Voice over IP (VoIP) deployments by cable operators in North America contributed to shipment and revenue growth for cable modems. Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapters, (E-MTAs) comprised more than 20% of cable modem shipments in Q1 2005. Shipments of standalone DSL modems increased only slightly as more DSL service providers moved to residential gateway equipment.
