CES 2010: FLO TV comes to the iPhone through Mophie sleeves

I talked a bit about the FLO TV service and new device on The Mobile Gadgeteer, but with today's CES 2010 announcement FLO TV is branching into the smartphone space. They announced a partnership with the folks who make the iPhone Mophie Juicepack batteries to launch a sleeve that fits on your iPhone or iPod touch to give you a wireless FLO TV experience. FLO TV is television sent out over the airwaves and does not use your wireless data for streaming television content. These products will start shipping during the first half of this year.

FLO TV also announced they will over more than 3,000 hours of sports programming and more than 1,200 sporting events in 2010 so this addresses my desire to have a device for catching sports coverage on the go. I personally don't care too much about television content since I DVR that and watch at home on a large HD TV, but catching sports on the go is a big deal for sports fans like myself.

There is not yet any pricing information on these sleeves and we don't yet know all the capability they will have, but we can assume it will have a larger battery to keep your iPhone/iPod touch charged up too.
