PC sales in China rose 10.4% in 2003, accounting for nearly half of all computers sold in the Asia Pacific region, according to Gartner. Chinese PC sales totalled 13.3 mil units in 2003, or 44.7% of the regionwide figure. China passed Japan last year to become the world's #2 PC market. Within China, Legend Group Ltd (Lenovo) continued to lead the field with 2.8 mil units sold, or 21.3% market share. Dell saw its unit sales grow 63% to grab 6.8% market share. That was enough to take away the second spot from Founder Electronics, which finished the year with 6.2% market share.
