Chordiant brings CRM through channels

Chordiant this week unveiled a new suite of CRM applications designed to help companies better manage their customer service operations through retail channels. The Chordiant 5 Channel Suite, consisting of five applications and a new server, analyzes marketing and sales information from companies' branch channels, allowing them to maintain consistent customer service and brand value throughout the business. Some of the technology comes from OnDemand, acquired by Chordiant in early April. Also on Tuesday, Chordiant, of Cupertino, Calif., reported a first-quarter net loss of $8.2 million, compared with a net loss of $9.69 million in the year-earlier quarter. Revenue rose to $22.8 million, slightly below analysts' estimates but up from $13.39 million in the year-ago quarter. The company cautioned that the spending outlook for its customers, many of which are in financial services, telecommunications and consumer services, remains uncertain. --James Montgomery, Tech Update
