Chrome browser update includes translation, new privacy settings

Google is updating the Chrome browser to include instant translation and new privacy settings.

Google is turning its Chrome browser into your personal interpreter.

The company is rolling out an update to the Windows version of Chrome over the next few days and one of the biggest changes is the instant translation of a Web page that's in a language different from your primary one. The technology being used comes from Google Translate, which also has been beefed up to work across 52 languages. Using the technology, it can detect and translate entire Web sites in less than one second.

The browser update also comes with new settings that allow users to adjust their "content settings" options to tell the browser how to handle things like cookies, images, JavaScript, plug-in and pop-ups on a site-by-site basis. As always, Google has created a video to explain how settings, such as when to allow cookies, can be managed better.
