Chromebooks launching in 6 countries and all Best Buy stores

Summary:Chromebooks from Acer, HP, and Samsung will soon be coming to a country near you.

Google is spreading its wings with Chrome OS with the announcement that Chromebooks will begin rolling out in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands. This includes Chromebooks from HP, Acer, and Samsung.

Chromebooks are currently only available in the US and the UK so this greatly expands the market for the laptops running Chrome OS.

In addition to the consumer market, Chromebooks are also sold to schools and businesses in the US and the UK. These market segments will also have Chromebooks available in the six new countries.

Google is also expanding retail availability of the Chromebook in the US as all 1,000+ Best Buy stores will offer them. Chromebooks are now sold in half the Best Buy locations, and they will be coming to all Best Buy stores over the next two weeks.
