CIOs embrace Web 2.0 personally

CIO Insight polled some CIOs on what Web 2.0 applications they use personally.

CIO Insight polled some CIOs on what Web 2.0 applications they use personally. Given the results, you would expect that the IT executives would be open to adopting Web 2.0 applications for their businesses. About 50 percent of the group watch videos and use wikis, blogs and RSS, and a third use social networking of some kind. Mashups were used by only 13, which is not unexpected given they are less well-defined and exposed as a personal technology.

What would be interesting is to see how those same CIOs say about using Web applications within their corporations. Video over the Web and social networking would not be even close to the top of the list...
