Cisco CEO John Chambers said that the company needs to execute better and now he's created a chief operating officer position. The company named Gary Moore, previous head of Cisco Services, to be Cisco's operating chief.
Following the third consecutive disappointing quarterly outlook, Cisco is looking to improve its operations. In a statement, Chambers said Moore was equipped to drive "strategic prioritization and accountability within Cisco."
Moore will report to Chambers. The new operating chief will be responsible for engineering, marketing, operations and services.
Moore joined Cisco in 2001 from Netigy Corp., a consulting firm.
