Continuing the race for the best enterprise mobility product, Citrix on Thursday announced the launch of ShareConnect, an app that lets workers access business-critical applications, files and networks while away from the office.

Like other apps offering similar pick-up-where-you-left-off features, ShareConnect does just that — enables users to work on one device and then seamlessly shift to the next.

Citrix says the app highlights how the company is focusing its mobile workspace solutions to serve the budding mobile workforce of the modern enterprise.

"Today's workforce is more mobile than ever and they face two major challenges; not all data is stored in the cloud and many desktop apps are not fully functional through mobile apps," said Citrix VP Jesse Lipson, in a statement. "With ShareConnect, users can access and edit files, use industry-specific desktop apps critical to getting their work done and even use their business networks — all through a simple interface, optimized pixel by pixel for tablets."

Additional features of the app include built-in network access, desktop processing power, a clean user interface optimized for each OS, and up to 1 GB of free cloud storage from Citrix ShareFile. It's available for a free download in the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
