CNN gets heavy with Chinese Web site
CNN lawyers say cnnews.com infringes its copyright
A Chinese Web site is being threatened with legal action by US News giant, CNN because of its domain name.
Lawyers for CNN say cnnews.com infringes its trademark on the initials CNN despite CN being the country code for China. Shanghai Maya Online Broadband Network says it won't run away from the suit and that it isn't afraid of CNN's legal moves.
CNN's lawyers have received a letter from the site, but it will take time to decipher it... it was sent in Chinese.
