IT consulting firm Cognizant has acquired Pennsylvania-based Cadient Group, a full-service digital marketing agency that serves life sciences companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consumer health, and medical device industries.
Cognizant says the deal strengthens and expands its digital marketing capabilities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
As part of the acquisition, Cognizant said it is gaining more than 100 digital specialists, as well as the digital assets and intellectual property of Cadient, including the insights and analytics platform Reveal, the experiential marketing platform Immerse, and OneVoice, an advocacy campaign management platform.
Cadient's customers include companies within the life sciences and healthcare industry. Its core platform specializes in brand planning, content development, multichannel analytics, as well as a range of digital, social and mobile marketing capabilities.
Cognizant, which has large presence in India, serves 28 of the top 30 global pharmaceutical companies and reported $8.8 billion in revenue last year. Its healthcare practice brought in approximately $2.5 billion in annualized revenue during the same period.
"In an increasingly competitive industry with many digitally active stakeholders, the acquisition of Cadient Group will complement Cognizant’s digital and interactive solutions capability," said Shankar Narayanan, VP and head of global markets of the Life Sciences practice at Cognizant. "It will help brand marketing leaders to innovatively transform their brands, manage customer experience across multiple channels, maintain quality standards and comply with regulations, and achieve greater return on marketing investments."
