IT consulting firm Cognizant has acquired New Hampshire-based cloud consulting firm KBACE Technologies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cognizant plans to use KBACE primarily for its consulting chops. As part of the deal, about 400 KBACE consultants and other implementation specialists will join Cognizant. KBACE touts a sizable customer base for its Oracle cloud applications and cloud implementation services.

"The combined capabilities will further enable Cognizant to help clients become intuitively digital by using the cloud to derive new insights, unlock new opportunities and lower costs through a subscription-based business model," Cognizant said.

Cognizant, which has large presence in India, serves 28 of the top 30 global pharmaceutical companies and reported revenue of $3.19 billion during its third quarter. For the year, Cognizant projects revenue of $12.41 billion, up 21 percent from a year ago.

In November the company announced plans to design and implement the technology infrastructure behind Genomics England's 100,000 Genomes Project, in partnership with the U.K. Department of Health.
