Toshiba is bringing Zoomed Video (ZV) into the mainstream by introducing two budget notebook lines with the technology at the Comdex trade show in Las Vegas this week.

The first unit is the Satellite 200CDS, a 100MHz Pentium-based unit with 16Mb EDO RAM, 722Mb hard drive, 11.3-inch dual-scan screen, six-speed CD-ROM drive and 16bit sound.

The second is the Satellite Pro Series with 120MHz Pentium, 16Mb EDO RAM, 1.26Gb hard drive, 11.3-inch 800 x 600 TFT screen, 10-speed CD-ROM drive and 16bit sound. Both lines have a ZV Port that allows fast video throughput by bypassing the system bus.
