Comdex: Punters experience mouse sensation

California-based Immersion Corporation this week showed off a new mouse that allows users to get a tactile sensation of movement.

The FeelIT mouse lets users feel when files and icons are being dragged across the screen, drawing lines are stretched, or contours of an engineering application are created, and is seen as being particularly useful in computer gaming.

Immersion is the company behind similar technology in Logitech, Thrustmaster and other joysticks, but the firm believes this is the first time such technology has been applied to mice.

The firm expects the FeelIT product to be available in the UK early next year.
