Compaq to push out low-cost PC, notebooks
Compaq will this week announce a new low-cost PC expected to duck the £800 mark, according to sources.
Likely to become part of the Presario line and possibly powered by Intel's 233MHz Pentium II or even Cyrix's first batch of MMX-enhanced MediaGX processors, the desktops will be aimed squarely at consumers and SoHo buyers
Also this week, the number one PC vendor plans to introduce a new range of notebooks.
The firm declined to comment.
