Concept camera strap harnesses solar energy

While often ignored, a sturdy camera strap is one of the most important accessories for a digital SLR camera. There might soon be a way to make this simple accessory a dual-functioning asset.

While often ignored, a sturdy camera strap is one of the most important accessories for a digital SLR camera. There might soon be a way to make this simple accessory a dual-functioning asset.

Designer Weng Jie has fashioned a concept camera strap with thin solar panels that would provide extra power for DSLR cameras when in the sunlight. This is especially useful for outdoor photo shoots, where there is nowhere to charge the battery and if you don't have a spare. Digital SLR cameras don't require that much energy to begin with, so you could probably trap enough solar juice to finish whatever project you're working on.

Not to mention that the simple white and blue design looks absolutely stunning. It's basic, but sleek and would look great on anyone. I hate the typical camera straps included with DSLRs that make me look like a walking billboard. Sign me up for this if it ever hits shelves.
