Global mining giant Ausenco has brought Australian IT services company CSG on board to manage the deployment of new Oracle gear.

The transformation, which kicked off this week, will see CSG deploy new Oracle enterprise resource planning software across all of Ausenco's business units, including asset, finance and project management divisions, maintenance, HR and payroll, as well as reporting and analysis.

CSG will deploy Oracle in Australia initially, followed by a roll-out in Ausenco's North and South American business units in a project that will progress into 2013.

CSG's group general manager Julie-Ann Kerin said that she was delighted that Ausenco had selected the Australian company.

Ausenco's CIO, Paul Young, said that the new platform will give the business an edge in its operations, reduce data duplication and aid expansion.

"In addition to supporting Ausenco's global expansion and integration of complex operations, the solution will improve efficiency and consistency in decision making for the company," Young said, adding that "critical business information will be available to managers across the business lines with multiple entries of data to be replaced by a single streamlined source of information".
