Dell has partnered with enStratus, Canonical and Mirantis to bulk out the enterprise services available for its OpenStack-based private cloud.
The Round Rock, Texas-based company announced the Emerging Solutions Ecosystem partnership programme at the OpenStack Design Summit in San Francisco on Monday. The scheme sees Dell pair its OpenStack and Hadoop-base technologies with software modules and components from other companies to broaden the capabilities of its products without having to invest in research and development.
Initially, enStratus has worked with Dell to produce an OpenStack reference architecture that combines the open source infrastructure-as-a-service technology with enStratus's cloud monitoring and management software.
Meanwhile, Mirantis, a provider of engineering services for OpenStack, will offer services to Dell customers.
Ubuntu steward Canonical has already introduced a technology to link Amazon's cloud to private OpenStack deployments.
