The scheme sees Dell pair its OpenStack and Hadoop-base technologies with software modules and components from other companies to broaden the capabilities of its products without having to invest in research and development.

Meanwhile, Mirantis, a provider of engineering services for OpenStack, will offer services to Dell customers.

Ubuntu steward Canonical has already introduced a technology to link Amazon's cloud to private OpenStack deployments.
