The 17-inch behemoth notebook already boasts an Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition CPU and Nvidia Quadro FX 3800M graphics. The additional memory should especially benefit engineers and others who need to load and work with hefty data sets quickly.
This all follows the USB 3.0 upgrade and Core i5 option announced for this model earlier this year. It's not clear yet if this will affect the current $1,899 starting price, or if it will only be available in customizable (read: more expensive) models.
The M6500 isn't the only one getting a memory upgrade as its sibling, the Dell Precision M4500, is also getting a boost to 16GB of RAM.
