Dell releases Migration Manager for the social enterprise

Dell plans to centralize collaboration and maximize investment in Microsoft Yammer and Office 365 with its new release. Migration Manager aims to eliminate the need to support multiple, disparate social networks with redundant functionality and content.

Organizations that want to reduce siloes and communicate in a better way, have driven the rapid adoption of a variety of enterprise social networks like Microsoft Yammer, Jive Software, Salesforce Chatter and others.

Implementing networks for teams and groups has created silos of content and collaboration that are difficult for IT to manage. Users are frustrated by logging into multiple systems with no easy way to share content.

The lack of available enterprise social discovery and migration tools make it difficult for organizations to fully understand the complexity of their existing environment.

Recognising this, Quest has announced the release of its Migration Manager for Enterprise Social. This is positioned as the market's "first enterprise social migration solution".

The product will be showcased next week in Chicago at Microsoft Ignite 2015. The solution allows organizations to consolidate Jive content to Yammer.

This will reduce costs associated with supporting multiple, redundant social networks and maximizing investment in Office 365 and Yammer.

Only relevant Jive content is migrated to Yammer. The tool discovers the content the organization wants to move, mapping Jive accounts to Yammer user accounts. It retains permissions, discussions, documents, attachments, metadata and rich text.
