Dell said Wednesday that its mobile chief Ron Garriques will leave the company. The news comes just as Dell is starting to launch mobile devices such as the Streak tablet and Venue Pro.

In a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Dell said Garriques, president of the company's communications solutions unit, would leave the company. Dell said:

Under the terms of the Separation Agreement, and consistent with Dell’s standard executive severance package, Mr. Garriques will receive a severance payment of $1.44 million and an incentive plan payment of $378,000. Mr. Garriques’ departure date will be January 28, 2011.

Garriques will provide consulting services to Dell from Jan. 31 to Dec. 31. He will get two lump sum payments of $3,154,120 on or before Feb. 28 and Dec. 31, 2011.

Garriques was a Motorola executive and highly touted as a man that could formulate Dell's mobile plans. You can find Garriques' separation agreement and consulting contract on the SEC's site.
