The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is seeking a chief information officer (CIO) to head up the strategic and operational management of its IT services and acquisitions.

The position, advertised as a "new leadership position", calls for applicants with "exceptional professional and ethical standards", and requires a "demonstrated record of innovative achievement, strategic vision and superior leadership".

The role will see the successful applicant given "agency-wide responsibility for the strategic and operational management of DFAT's [information technology] and information-management assets and processes".
