Did Gizmodo score the actual 2010 Apple iPhone?

Gizmodo posted an article today titled, This is Apple's Next iPhone, and I have to say that all the photos, video, and other evidence they wrote about are very convincing. This may still be a prototype device, but the iPhone they have looks pretty finished and we may be looking at this year's new iPhone model that has a form factor more different than I honestly thought we would see.

As Jason wrote about this morning there was some photos and information posted on Engadget this weekend about the next generation iPhone. People stated that the device was a fake iPhone knock off, but it seems it may have been the real deal. Strangely, Gizmodo was silent on posting this same news, but now we see why.

It looks like the expected updates are all there with a higher resolution display, better camera, and front facing camera. The form factor seems more like a MacBook Pro and I have to say, like Jason, that I was expecting to see a slimmed down iPhone more like the iPod touch rather than a blockier iPhone. The form factor reminds me more of an Android device than a next generation iPhone.

Now that I have the iPad and other excellent smartphones like the HTC HD2 and Google Nexus One, I have no plans to upgrade to this iPhone if it is only available on AT&T. If it launched on T-Mobile (highly unlikely that will ever happen) then I would pick one up, but I am pleased with T-Mobile and my Palm Pre Plus with Verizon at this time.

Do you think this is the next iPhone? If so, is it enough to get you to upgrade?
