IT services and products giant Dimension Data has invested an undisclosed amount in Sydney firm BlueFire as it attempts to integrate the smaller firm's offerings into its own.

BlueFire provides a range of managed services, including productivity application hosting, email, desktop, disaster recovery and security services, primarily to small to medium-sized clients in the Asia-Pacific region.

"Through the investment, a select range of BlueFire's services will be integrated with Dimension Data's broader managed services and outsourcing offerings. Dimension Data will also invest in further developing BlueFire's service products to complement our existing services portfolio," DiData said in a statement this morning.

"The investment in BlueFire enables us to provide a more effective outsourcing solution to clients, specifically with regards to the delivery of services for the Wintel server and desktop environment."

DiData said with respect to other possible future acquisitions locally, it would continue to look to enhance its current offerings, through the acquisition of key IP and skill sets that would deliver value.
