SINGAPORE--Dining and leisure guide doAsia is scaling new heights by providing its content to Tenzing Communications Inc, which offers inflight Web services for carriers such as Cathay Pacific Airways, Singapore Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada, Varig and FinnAir.

Tenzing gives passengers in all seating classes email and e-business services. Users can also access continuously updated content from pre-selected providers including Reuters, Yahoo!, The Wall Street Journal, FT.com, Grandprix Canada, IntoWines and Time.

"With Tenzing's one of a kind onboard service, we can now offer doAsia's 13 city user-generated dining and shopping guide for upwardly mobile Asians and foreign visitors at 30,000 feet, before they land," doAsia founder and CEO Andrea Ponzi said in a statement.

Singapore-based doAsia, which is backed by the Ayala Group of the Philippines, publishes reviews of over 7,000 restaurants, bars, and shops, based mainly on user opinions. It covers Bangkok, Beijing, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Melbourne, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo, and will soon be available in Japanese and Chinese.

On its part, Tenzing believes that the deal with doAsia gives travellers entertainment options which "complements our offering of email and hourly content updates on world, technology, business & sports news, that passengers need", Tenzing director of content business Alex McGowan said in the release.

Advertising revenues will be shared by both companies.
