European bourses were mixed in early trading this morning, with technology stocks among the most active.

The FTSE 100 was slightly down, pushed by Vodafone, BT and BP. Losers on the Techmark include Baltimore Technologies and ARM Holdings. But the index held steady with Scoot.com and QXL.com among today's gainers. Autonomy shares also rose slightly after yesterday's announcement of a tie-up with Ericsson. In Frankfurt the Dax rose slightly on the back of chipmaker Infineon Technologies.
