Research and Markets studied the increasing worldwide demand for online protection rights and thereby demand for DRM software. The latter is expected to touch a peak of $3.6 bln by 2008 along with a growth rate of 106.1%. In 2004, 138 US companies suffered a loss of US $35 to $39 bln annually on account of theft of intellectual property and corporate leaks.
