A UK home page will be launched on 22 February. The model for the site will remain the same with some customisation and localisation. There are currently 1.4 million items for sale on the eBay Web site, including antiques, books, computers, toys and memorabilia. Around 0.25 percent of total traffic for the site comes from the UK.

In 1998 the company reported revenues of £30m compared with £3.4m in 1997.
