Apparently Symantec is no longer selling LC5 (L0pht Crack) to anyone outside the US and Canada. I can't wait to learn more about this. Why is Canada OK and the UK is not? What does Tony Blair say about that? Why can't Symantec just sell it from their European web farm? (they do have a European web farm don't they?)

Symantec acquired L0phtCrack one of the most popular and notorious password cracking tools when they bought @Stake, one of the most popular and notorious hacking service providers.

So here is what happens when companies start to self-regulate based on what I guess is advice from their internal lawyers. Sometime later this week there will be half a dozen products for sale outside the US that do exactly what L0phtCrack does. There already are of course, but they will see upticks in their business.

Advice to anyone thinking of commercializing a tool like John the Ripper or Crack 5: Go to www.milliondollarhomepage.com and reserve your pixels now!
