Eight new suppliers added to Australian government cloud panel

Summary:Ninefold and NEC are two of the eight new suppliers the Department of Finance and Deregulation has added to the datacentre-as-a-service multi-use list to supply cloud services to the Australian government.

The Department of Finance and Deregulation has beefed up its list of suppliers for Australian government cloud services to 57 today.

The panel, which can tender for services up to the value of AU$80,000 with contracts up to 12 months in length, now offers 1,251 different services to government agencies.

In addition to existing suppliers such as Macquarie Telecom, Telstra, UXC, Bulletproof, Dell, HP, IBM, Pacnet, and TransACT, Finance announced today that Converga, Coretec, Fuse, Mastersoft, MBITS, NEC IT, Ninefold, and REMASYS have all been added to the list of suppliers.

Some of the new capabilities added to the panel include customer relationship management, contract management, and applications and availability performance monitoring.

The department said in its blog post that it will accept new applications to join the list until August 15, 2013.
