Singapore - EMC Corporation today announced that it has partnered Singapore-based National Computer Systems (NCS) to deliver E-infostructure, a mission critical storage infrastructure, to companies in the South Asia region.
NCS, a regional IT service provider and e-enabler, is the first Value-Added Systems Integrator (VASI) in South Asia selected by EMC to be certified on EMC's Enterprise Storage AssessmentTM methodology, enabling it to conduct storage infrastructure studies, design and implementation techniques for organizations.
This, according to EMC and NCS, is a significant business development as in the last few years, storage has gained prominence as a critical organizational infrastructure, overtaking the importance of servers. Dataquest estimates that by 2002, storage will be 80% of a company's hardware expenditure.
NCS will implement EMC's range of enterprise storage systems including Symmetrix and CLARiiON, storage management software, networks and services across any computing platform and operating system. When integrated into a information storage infrastructure, these components make up the E-Infostructure or Enterprise Storage.
