EMI takes stake in musicmaker

Record company EMI said today that it was acquiring a 50 percent stake in musicmaker.com, an Internet company that lets users create their own CDs.

Record company EMI said today that it was acquiring a 50 percent stake in musicmaker.com, an Internet company that lets users create their own CDs. As part of the deal, the company's have agreed to a five-year deal that gives musicmaker access to EMI's library.

Financial terms of the deal were not released.
