Eurostar rolls out Wi-Fi in stations

Eurostar's UK terminals are to become Wi-Fi hot spots for travellers
Written by Jo Best, Contributor
Eurostar has announced its two UK terminals have gone wireless -- with Wi-Fi being introduced at both Waterloo and Ashford International stations this morning.

Wireless Internet access will be available in the departure lounges and business areas of the terminals, with Broadreach Networks providing the service.

Customers will be able to get online by buying vouchers from the Eurostar lounges or though roaming deals.

Wi-Fi hot spots in train stations are fast becoming the norm in larger stations -- Virgin Trains announced earlier this year that several of its first class lounges would get wireless Internet access.

Eurostar has also been trialling on-board Wi-Fi access. Fellow Wi-Fi equipped train operator GNER has found the service proving popular with travellers -- recent figures from the train company's Wi-Fi provider, Icomera, showed week-on-week user numbers growing at 77 percent.
