Sun Microsystems is understood to be preparing to announce two half-day events -- one each in Sydney and Melbourne -- with Gosling, chief technology officer of Sun's Developer Products group headlining. Sources told Builder AU Gosling would be doing a Q&A session in each city, with local developers having a rare chance to ask the Java guru questions. Sun executives are pushing the events as Java community sessions, with chief engineers from Sun's product group also set to speak.

Full details of the events have not been confirmed -- but it is understood the first is scheduled for Sydney on 2 February and the second Melbourne on 3 February.
