Finance calls for ICT services panel

The Department of Finance and Deregulation has gone to tender for a panel of providers for ICT services, off-the-shelf software and hardware.

The department said in its request for tender published today that it was seeking to establish a panel of providers in those three areas for an initial period of three years, with the potential for a further three-year extension in total.

For the ICT services, the department is seeking panellists to offer such services as strategy development, quality assurance, business analysis, enterprise architecture, data migration, hosting, training and maintenance and support.

For commercial off-the-shelf software, the panellists would have to provide the software, subscription, licensing, patching and upgrades, as well as on-call and on-site warranty and support. Current providers to the department include Adobe, BlackBerry, CheckPoint, Citrix, VMWare, Oracle, Siemens and Symantec.

Hardware panellists will be required to provide not only the hardware, but also the associated software, licensing, installation and support. IBM, Citrix, Dell and EMC are all currently providing hardware to the department.

The Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) told ZDNet Australia that this tender is unrelated to AGIMO's whole-of-government ICT services panel first outed in a discussion paper at the end of last year. According to AGIMO, the review of ICT services panels will be "announced soon".
