Finis Swimsense performance monitor can differentiate between swim strokes

It might look like an ordinary sports watch at first, the Finis Swimsense definitely stands apart from most performance monitors out there.

It might look like an ordinary sports watch at first,  the Finis Swimsense definitely stands apart from most performance monitors out there.

Intended for both recreational and advanced swimmers, the Finis Swimsense includes a built-in motion detector that can capture a whole lot of information. That includes:

  • Stroke types and count (with differentiation between backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle)
  • Number of laps swum and time
  • Calories burned
  • Total distance

Basically all a swimmer has to do (when it comes to the Swimsense) is hit start and stop on the monitor, and then transfer the information to a computer via USB. Users can personalize the settings up front when it comes to age, weight, gender, and pool size.
The Swimsense performance monitor will be available this "holiday season" for $199.99.
