The firm's new Shockwave Flash product is an inheritance from FutureWave Software, the developer of FutureSplash that Macromedia recently bought. The Flash tool, formerly known as FutureSplash Animator, lets vector-based animation be added without bloating code. A set of drawing tools, fonts and controls are included. The software supports Windows 95, NT, Macintosh and Power Macintosh.

The Flash player is just 100Kb according to Macromedia, making for quick downloads. It is available free from Macromedia's Web site.
