Florida ballot truck for sale on Yahoo!

The Ryder rental truck that briefly symbolized the presidential election morass when it was used to deliver 462,644 presidential ballots in Florida is being auctioned on Yahoo.com. Budget Group, the parent company of Ryder TRS, plans to donate the proceeds to the Red Cross. The truck is already commanding quite a premium: As of Monday morning, bidding had reached $40,500. The auction, which began Dec. 5, is scheduled to end at midnight Dec. 14, according to the Yahoo! (yhoo) site. -- Cecily Barnes, Special to ZDNet.
