Next week at this time we will know all the details about RIM's BlackBerry 10 platform and I will have had some hands-on time with new devices at the New York event. So far, RIM looks to be doing everything they can to get excitement built up for their new OS and products and I just received a note that they will have their first ever Super Bowl commercial to complete a blockbuster week on Sunday, 3 February. 30-second ads costs an estimated $4 million for this year's Super Bowl.
I guess back in the day when it seemed most BlackBerry users were issued their phones at work there wasn't much need to advertise at the Super Bowl. RIM will have millions of football fans in the US and Canada watching the game and millions more going online later to view the commercials so they have a real opportunity to get the word out that they are getting back into the game.
In addition to the BlackBerry 10 commercial, RIM stated that they will be campaigning actively with pre and post-game on-site, digital and social activities, including real time engagement with BlackBerry social fans on Facebook and Twitter, as well as extending and amplifying exposure and fan engagement through Promoted Posts and Sponsored Story ads.

I personally enjoy watching Super Bowl commercials and sure hope the one showing off the new BlackBerry 10 is a winner.
