For those of you who live near a Fry's, they have posted their full Black Friday ad for 2007.  I'm headed out there in about 30 minutes from now but here's a sample of some of the things on sale.  I'm not one of those people who camp out for a day and I like to show up 30 minutes before the store opens.  I'm not going to score any cheap dual-core laptops for $400 but plenty of deals can be had.  Some of these things just make nice stocking stuffers or gifts.

Sample from Fry's Black Friday 2007

  • Intel quad-core Q6600 (with ECS SiS 671 Chipset motherboard) - $199 (CPU alone is worth at least $270 on the low price search engines.)
  • 9" digital picture frame, mp3, mp4 video, Calendar, 4-in-1 card slot - $47
  • 4-in-1 card reader - $4
  • Samsung color laser - $208 - $110 rebate
  • Compaq Celeron M laptop with 15.4" LCD 1GB RAM - $299
  • JVC up-conversion DVD - $29
  • Sharp 42" and 47" display - $777 and $997
  • Jabra BT2040 bluetooth headset - $6
  • Samsung 50" 720P Plasma display (warning on power consumption) - $897
  • V7 V730 3.5" portable GPS - $100 (didn't work too well, returned).
  • TomTom One - $118 (no MP3 playback but vastly superior GPS functionality compared to other cheap models).
  • Buffalo 500GB external USB 2.0 hard drive - $80
  • 19" and 22" wide screen display - $130 (before $40 rebate) and $190 ($50 rebate)

  • Editorial standards
