FTC: Laws apply to dotcoms too

The Federal Trade Commission has issued a working paper explaining how consumer protection rules and guides apply to advertising and sales online. The paper explains that while some phrases used in the guidelines, such as written or writing, normally are used to describe paper-based communication, the same rules apply to text displayed on the Internet.
