Fujitsu Software on Monday introduced an upgrade to Interstage i-Flow, the company's software to automate business processes. Interstage i-Flow 6.0 adds the ability to collect and analyze data on a company's operations in order to spot process bottlenecks. A call center, for example, could allocate more customer service representatives to a given task to meet patterns of call volumes.

Fujitsu has also integrated iFlow with a "business rules engine" from software company Ilog. By using a rules engine, rather than Interstage i-Flow design tool, companies can more easily automate the work flow of complicated business processes.
