German PC market up 7% in 2004

According to Gartner, the PC market in Germany grew by 7% in 2004. Growth rates are expected to remain below 10% in 2005.

According to Gartner, the PC market in Germany grew by 7% in 2004. Growth rates are expected to remain below 10% in 2005. Fujitsu-Siemens still tops the list PC vendors in Germany with 17.8% of the market, followed by Medion at 9.9% and Hewlett-Packard at 9.8%. Acer came in with an 8.8% market share, followed by Dell with 7.0% of the market. Whereas sales of laptops made up 33.8% of business in 2003, this share had grown to 38.7% in 2004. The share of the private customer market in overall sales fell from 46 to 43.9%, while the quantity of units sent to business customers rose from 54 to 56.1%.
