Get Earthcomber and Sling Player Mobile for free on your Nokia N95

I just read on Darla Mack's blog that Nokia updated the Download! content for US Nokia devices. A couple of the new applications you can download and install are Earthcomber and Sling Player Mobile for S60. I went into depth and showed a video of Sling Player Mobile on S60 devices and if you purchased a Nokia N95 in the U.S. you get this software application for free (US$29.99 value). It isn't clear if this has to be the new N95-3 or if purchasing the N95 from Nokia USA or other online vendors counts, but after my Sling Player Mobile trial ends I'll try it on the standard N95.

The other application that I was excited to see is Earthcomber. I have used this service for a couple of years by accessing it via a web browser and the Palm application, but this is the first I have heard of a dedicated S60 client. The cool thing about using Earthcomber (free application) with the Nokia N95 is that it uses the integrated GPS receiver to establish your location and spot places and people around you. Earthcomber is a location-based application/service that helps you find movies and times, places to eat, ATM machines, and more as well as providing free maps and directions. There are several free software applications to use the integrated GPS receiver on the Nokia N95 and if you own this device I highly recommend you try out Earthcomber.

There are a few other applications available within the latest Download! catalog too so give them a try if you are interested in 3rd party applications on your device. Note that they are not all free applications, but they do all have some kind of free trial period.
