SINGAPORE--Organizers of the upcoming 3GSM World Congress Asia are expecting to host board members from more than 120 international mobile operators.

Running over five days from Sept. 26 to 30, the event is expected to see hundreds more representatives from the global mobile community gather at Singapore's Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Center. Last year's show attracted over 2,300 attendees from 92 countries.

This year's 3GSM World Congress Asia will raise topics that will set the agenda for the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona in February 2006, organizers say.

Organized by the GSM Association, the show will feature major themes that cover various issues including how to fuel developments in emerging markets and deliver compelling mobile content.

Key speakers appearing at the event include:

•  Lu Xiangdong, vice president and member of the governing body, China Mobile
•  Neil Montefiore, CEO, MobileOne
•  Harry Hui, president of Southeast Asia, Universal Music
•  Shin Bae Kim, president and CEO, SK Telecom
•  Napoleon Nazareno, president and CEO, Smart Communications (Philippines); and
•  Lim Chuan Poh, CEO, SingTel Mobile

The 3GSM World Congress Asia event will also host the Roamfest event, which aims to facilitate the signing of bilateral roaming agreements between global operators.

In addition, the GSM Association will announce the winner of the second tender to provide low-cost handsets for emerging markets. This exercise is part of the association's 'Connecting the Unconnected' program.

Visitors to 3GSM World Congress Asia can also attend the free-content seminars, which will address issues ranging from facilitating industry growth to the technology evolution.
